West College Corner

Southeast Indiana Area

The state line between Indiana and Ohio exactly straddles the town and also its one and only elementary school and was once the feature story of the CBS News Sunday magazine show.

Five miles northwest of Oxford, Ohio just as you cross the state line into Indiana lies the village of West College Corner. Union County Indiana is farm country with wide open fields dotted with tiny villages and cities. While tiny at only 676 residents, West College Corner residents wouldn’t have it any other way. The village clusters a few homes, but most residents live and farm their own land and have for many generations. The downtown war memorial and adjacent park benches provide a place to sit and visit while doing your daily chores at the store, restaurant, or post office.
