Ft. Thomas

Northern Kentucky Area

Fort Thomas, known as “The City of Beautiful Homes,” is over 145 years old. In 1877 the United States Army selected Fort Thomas as a site for a military post because of its lovely rolling highlands and location overlooking the Ohio River. The city is named in honor of General George Henry Thomas. There are still remnants from the time when the city was a fortification. A stone water tower is now a landmark and stands at the front of Tower Park.

You won’t find industry here, but you will find a closely-knit community of over 16,000 residents. Virtually all prices and styles of homes are offered. They share the common trait of being well-kept. Lovely older homes as well as newer ones along tree-shaded streets are the norm. Many streets have houses which offer highly sought after river views or city views. There are few “through” streets – most are cul-de-sacs.
