About

Aberdeen is located along the Ohio River in Brown County and its population is around 1500 residents. The village was founded in 1795 by James Edward. It is part of Zane’s Trace, a frontier road through the Northwest Territory. Aberdeen is named after a city in Scotland.

Transportation

Aberdeen is 75 miles southeast of Cincinnati, Ohio (about 1.5 hour drive). I-275 (near Cincinnati) is the closest major highway in Ohio. SR 52/68 follows the Ohio River and connects with Ripley. Across the river, KY-9 is a good way to reach the village via the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge (Route 62).

Hospitals

Adams County Regional Medical Center is the closest hospital providing a wide range of health care services with its 25 medical beds. Meadowview Regional Medical Center is located across the river in Maysville, Kentucky. Mercy Health-Clermont Hospital is located in Batavia.

There are a few small stores in the village for essentials.

Recreation

Aberdeen hosts a 4th of July Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The village has a boat ramp for water enthusiasts. There is a ballfield and playground in Aberdeen Community Park. Aberdeen has a campground, boat launch and marina.
