The “Heart of Clinton County”, Wilmington has a population of more than 12,400 and acts as the region’s civic, cultural and entertainment destination. Rate one of America’s “100 Best Small Towns”, it’s easy to see why Wilmington also carries the nickname – “The Most Livable Neighborhood” from a 1995 Cincinnati Magazine competition. The magazine declared Wilmington the best for its friendliness, education, shopping and many more attributes. It’s home as well to the regional office of the National Weather Service that oversees forecasts for Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Because of the classical designs of its downtown, parts of the movie ”Lost in Yonkers” was shot here in 1992. Both newly built housing and turn of the century homes abound in Wilmington.
