The village of Sardinia is located in both Brown and Highland counties. It has a population of 980 residents. Its name is from the island located in the Mediterranean Sea. Sardinia was established by pioneers in the early 19th century and was originally called “Lilly Post Office” (named after the first post master.) Its first tavern sheltered escaped slaves who were heading to Canada. A marker commemorates the site of the Underground Railroad.
A rural area you will find modest priced homes along with moderately priced residences along the Lake Waynoka. Many homes are located on acreage.

Interstate 275 is the closest highway to Sardinia. The village is located off SR 32.
Hospitals
Mercy Medical is located on SR32 in Mt. Orab. Sardinia Family Medicine is run by Mercy Health and is located in the village.
Shopping
There are local shops and restaurants located in Sardinia, including a diner, hardware store and drugstore. More shopping opportunities are available in Georgetown, Hillsboro or Cincinnati.
Recreation
The local school system offers many sports programs for young athletes. Lake Waynoka offers boating and fishing.
