Adams Township was named for President John Quincy Adams and is one of ten Ohio townships named “Adams”. The township was formed in 1849 from parts of Chester, Vernon and Union townships.
Adams Township is located in the western part of Clinton County and has under 2,000 residents. This township is rural with no municipalities. There are two unincorporated communities: Ogden and Sligo. The area is governed by three elected trustees. The region has a small-town atmosphere where time has stood still. Newer and older homes of many styles are found on small and large acreage lots for those who enjoy living in the country.

The township can be reached via I-71, the 3C Highway and State Route 380.

Clinton Memorial Hospital is located in Wilmington, Ohio. All seven of Cincinnati’s finest hospitals are within a 70-minute drive via the interstate, including Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Christ Hospital and University Hospital.

Clinton County Fairgrounds hosts a fair each summer. Caesar Creek State Park is located in Wilmington and offers swimming, water skiing and boating along with hiking and biking trails. Cowan Lake State Park is also located in Wilmington and has a beach, lake and trails.
