Local Events

Celina was established in 1834 by James Watson Riley. It is named after the town Salina, New York. During the late 1800s, the area grew due to the discovery of oil and natural gas deposits. There are now over 10,000 residents in Celina.

Fifty percents of the nation’s manufacturing an over 30 percent of the nation’s farm products are within 600 miles of Celina. The city has many styles of homes from historic to newly homes in a variety of price ranges. Beautiful lake-front homes with channel fronts are available near Grand Lake.

Transportation

Celina is located along the western side of I-75 along State Routes 33, 29 and 127.

Hospitals

Mercer County Community Hospital services the town and is located in Coldwater. The Grand Lake Regional Cancer Center is also located in Celina.

Shopping

The tree-line Main Street offers a variety of local shops and restaurants. The city many national brand restaurants and stores, too.

Recreation

Celina offers its residents many concerts and festivals throughout the year. The Celina Lake Festival is held in July in the downtown area and along the Grand Lake (located in Grand Lake-St. Marys State Park). The lake is also the location for the town’s concert series and the Govenors Cup Regatta. A Freedom Days Celebration is held during the July 4th holiday. The Celina-Coldwater Trail is a 4.5 mile bikeway from Celina to Coldwater in Mercer County. It parallels an existing rail line. The town has five parks totaling over 124 acres. The town also features a state-of-the art artificial-turf baseball field complex.
