This northwestern Warren County town 14 miles south of Dayton was primarily a railroad town in its early history. This settlement of farmers was named after George B. Carlisle, a railroad man, who bought and divided the land now bearing his name. This rich, fertile farmland with its rural beauty and large, tree-lined expanses has enticed nearly 5,400 people to the peaceful community of Carlisle. Classic farmhouses and new, gracious construction sites abound.

Transportation

State Route 123 is the main artery linking Carlisle to nearby I-75 and State Route 4.

Hospitals

Dayton area hospitals including Sycamore and Kettering Memorial are within a ten-minute drive. Northern Cincinnati hospitals are within a ten-minute drive including Bethesda North Hospital and Atrium Medical Center.

Shopping

Local merchants provide general merchandise and services conveniently located for residents.

Recreation

The Great Miami River runs along Carlisle's eastern boundary, and Twin Creek is nearby, providing outdoor enthusiasts with canoeing and hiking opportunities. Roof Park provides recreational activities for residents. Golf courses and other activities are in neighboring communities.
